We have found a solution but I still need help coming up with a significant amount of money in order for it to work. It’s definitely no $100,000 or more like I need to cover the cost of my care but it’s still a lot of money. How much money? Well $40,000. If you don’t know by now, I am a quadriplegic and full-time father desperately trying to make or raise enough money to continue to pay for my care. If I don’t figure something out I am going to have no choice but to sell the home my children have grown up in, the only home they know. On top of that they will likely have to switch schools and everything if that happens. As of right now I have just enough funds to last me one more year. Saying goodbye to friends as a kid is so hard and I really don’t want to put them through that.    

  When I was a kid we moved around all the time and I hated it. I wasn’t really at any particular school for long enough to make significant friends and the ones I was at long enough we moved and I never got to see them again. It only takes one special kind-hearted soul to come up with the amount of money I need for a couple more years. Just to get me by until I can learn and discover how to work and what kind of work I can do as a quadriplegic.    

It’s not just being thrown away, it’s going to a genuine kind-hearted, selfless disabled human being that has truly been through a lot, given a lot, and just needs a break. Somebody that’s going to stop and be thankful about it and not take it for granted no matter what way the money is obtained. Whether I work and earn it or it is donated, it will not be taken for granted by any means.

It’s tough… it’s been 5 or so years since my divorce and my ex-wife and I get along great nowadays. We are able to do things together and we often do. We take the kids places together, she’ll come over and help me with things, or once in awhile she’ll come over for certain holidays.

It’s hard though because our kids are constantly telling us that they wish we could get back together. It’s a hard conversation to have but it’s just something that will never happen.

I grew up with parents that were divorced and I can remember thinking the same thing at times.

Is this normal and what can we do to make it better?

Why does it seem like so many police officers abuse their authority? So many of them are so rude. So many of them are violent. So many of them treat people like they are just complete scum.

Why is it that when they break the law, they barely get a slap on the wrist. If it was the average person committing the same crime, most of the time the crime is followed through by significant jail time.

Now I’m an easy-going person and I’m the type that will just give them my ID and proof of insurance like they ask when you get pulled over. Does that make me weak?

Is TikTok really still popular? A few years ago my kiddo and their cousin celebrated their birthdays on the same day and they both wanted it to be TikTok themed. So that’s exactly what we did. That being said though is it really still popular?

I can’t stand TikTok because that is all my kids do when they have their phones. Sit there all day long watching TikTok. I’ll ask, Hey buddy what you doing? Watching TikTok. Hey sweetheart what are you doing? Watching TikTok. Lol.

Why is it more popular than youtube? Or is it just a younger generation thing? I don’t know maybe you can help me please comment and let me know

Before I broke my neck I enjoyed drinking beer, BBQing, mountain biking, camping, driving, fishing, swimming, building, taking my kids to the park, four wheeling, and snowboarding.

I could totally work a 12-hour shift and jump on my mountain bike for a five mile ride or more. Grab my snowboard and drive up to my local ski resort. Stand in front of my barbecue for three or four hours. It literally didn’t matter.

As long as I was outdoors, I was a happy camper. It typically didn’t matter what I was doing, I was and still am, a pretty positive person and it’s hard to drag me down. I often tell people that nobody’s going to ruin my day but me.

I knew all of the best fishing spots. I knew where the best snowboarding trails and ski jumps were. I could show you some awesome mountain biking trails or some epic camping spots. Idaho is pretty amazing when it comes to outdoor activities. We have a little bit of everything.

I would often attend racing events at our local race tracks. I really wanted to put together a beater car to start racing. I believe if wasn’t for breaking my neck, I would have. I love driving, especially on windy roads and fast cars.

Up until about a year and a half ago I enjoyed drinking alcohol. I preferred Coors original or some kind of whiskey. Usually either Crown Royal or Woodford Reserve. Nowadays though, I rarely drink any alcohol or beer.

Almost immediately after the divorce I was hospitalized with a bone infection and needed serious surgery. I discovered the Health and Welfare had no right to take the kids from me and As soon as my skin flap surgery was done and I was able to convince my doctor to release me on bed rest… I went home and after about a week and a half I said screw this, my kids need to be at home with their father. Not living in a two-bedroom apartment with their auntie, cousin, and grandmother. After everything they had been through…

A very nasty divorce, witnessing their mom get physically and verbally abused by her boyfriend, feeling abandoned because suddenly both of their parents are gone, and having almost no idea where mom and Dad went because I was in the hospital for almost 6 months and their mother had her own issues. There was no way, I wasn’t having it.

They needed their own space, a place to call their own, their own room that they can shut the door too for some privacy and quiet time. A place where they could be comfortable and act like themselves, let loose a little bit without worrying about getting in trouble…

So some time in February 2019 took myself off bed rest early and they moved back in with me. I have had them full-time ever since. Now don’t get me wrong they do go to Mom’s every other weekend Friday night through Sunday evening. But the majority of the time they are with me… She does step up and give the kids a ride back to my house or to and from doctors appointments once in awhile if I’m busy and she’ll help me out by taking me to an appointment here and there, but, She does not help me out financially, and I don’t make her pay child support…

Back then I was only receiving about $1,300 a month in SSDI for all three of us to live off of and currently I get just over $1,500. It’s nothing I know, but, I make it work. Thankfully I’ve had decent credit. Not So Much Anymore as my credit score is now like a 649 currently but I do have a 99% payment history. As you can imagine, I’ve accumulated quite a debt between loans and credit card accounts as a means to get things the kids and I need because I didn’t have the cash on hand and it wasn’t something the trust can pay for.

I want to work and earn my own income for sure and I have a couple business ideas that I think would do quite well. On top of that my sister-in-law and I want to start a new IT company. In order to do that though I need lots of training and a business loan is a must. So now I have a problem, because of the debt I acquired over the years supporting my household… I highly doubt I could get a business loan until I pay down my debt.

Over half of my total accumulated debt isn’t technically mine, like an idiot… being the nice, kind, generous, guy that gives the shirt off his back… I cosigned on a vehicle for my ex-girlfriend. She is still currently making the payments but it’s almost $20,000. Yes I was dating her, but, I did it because I saw a single mom struggling to raise three kids with two hoopty vehicles that were anything but dependable. Growing up my mother raised us as a single mom so it pulled on my Heartstrings. On top of that I was taught that as a man you take care of your lady and that’s what I’ve always done. From my first girlfriend to my last, I take care of my lady.

In case you don’t know, I am a quadriplegic and I live in the state of Idaho…

Ever since covid happened it has been so hard to find caregivers to work for me. It used to be that everyone wanted to be a caregiver and people did it out of passion but these days it is impossible to find anybody that wants to do it.

It leaves the people that do want to do it overworked and the people that need caregivers without shit’s covered. It’s a lose-lose situation. I’m an easygoing person and I’m pretty laid back. It’s not like it’s hard work just Lighthouse cleaning and helping someone eat and drink. It doesn’t make sense. If you or somebody you know lived in the state of Idaho and would like a job, please comment on this poster and I will give you instructions on how to proceed.

What are you doing for spring break?

Spring break started Friday for my kiddos. We are going to drive up to Sun Valley, eat lunch, and drive back. If you’re not familiar with Idaho, Sun Valley is located in the middle of the mountains and should have a few feet of snow. It is very pretty and to make it even better the kids will be with me.

It’s very pretty in both the summer and the winter. The route we are taking is about a 4 Hour round trip and from the sounds of it it’s going to be a beautiful sunny trip not a cloud in sight. I got some photos on the way to Sun Valley but I didn’t get any of all the snow. There was almost 2 ft and Incredibly the temperature was in the high 50s and the sun was shining bright.

Monday or Tuesday we are supposed to take my kiddos to go ride go-karts at a place called Fast Lane. Then the following weekend we are supposed to get a hotel room in Ontario Oregon so that we’re close to my mom and the kids can swim in the hotel pool as well as go on a drive from Nyssa Oregon to Horseshoe Bend Idaho.
