Patients and self control

Whether it’s about my care, I’m trying to help somebody work on their vehicle, or I’m trying to teach my child something… As a quadriplegic, I have had to teach many people. I think a good teacher should have tons of patience and self-control. Not everybody just understands. You have to learn to remain calm and come up with different ways on how to explain what you are trying to get across. You cannot just get irritated and mad at somebody because you had to go over things three or four times. Sometimes people just don’t get it and you have to come up with different ways of explaining the same thing so that you can get them to understand. I also believe that a good teacher needs to lead by example. You need to be a good role model and show your students how to be good people.
