The other day we drove up to McCall, ID to go swimming and spend the day outdoors in the beautiful mountains of Idaho. It’s located in the heart of the Idaho mountains about 2 hours north of where I live and the capital city of Boise, ID. It was me, my 2 kiddos and 2 of their friends, my sister, her boyfriend, and his kiddo. It was so nice to get out and the drive up was so beautiful!

Right when we got there though, I realized my insulin pump was not working and I forgot my emergency insulin pen. So my blood sugar was quite high. We had 3 options… Either load right back up and go home to deal with it and the whole day’s ruined no swimming, call 911 and have emergency personnel come to the lake and give me insulin, or I could let everyone stay at the lake and have fun while I toodle bugged myself about a mile and a half to the emergency room up there and have them give me insulin. I chose option 3 and I’m so glad I did! It only took me about an hour to get to the emergency room, get dealt with, and get back to the lake. It ended up being an epic day! A day worth of remembering for sure! We were up in the mountains from 1:00 p.m. to about 7:00 p.m. and then we headed back south to Boise. I was so thankful all the kids and everybody had fun!
So remember to stop and be thankful for what you do have and don’t forget, if donkeydidit… You can too!
