I woke up this morning and noticed my right foot was swollen. By the time I got into my wheelchair it looked like the swelling had gone down quite a bit. Double checked it this evening and it was significantly larger than my other foot so I decided to go to the hospital.
The ER doc didn’t seem to be worried about it but had an ultrasound and an X-ray done to make sure there was no blood clots or broken bones. He said that the good news is there’s no blood clots but that my big toe bone was broken in half.
I don’t know what I did but I must have jammed my toe into something while cruising along in my wheelchair. Doctor ordered me to wear compression socks and keep my right leg elevated. Other than that all was well.
