I wasn’t going to put up a Christmas tree or do anything for Christmas 2023 because the year before that I tried putting Christmas lights up and every time it would rain they would short out and I constantly had to call someone to come reset the breaker and fix them. It was such a nightmare and I was over it. I told myself screw it no more decorations I’m done.
A couple months before Christmas 2023 my daughter and my sister-in-law were pressuring me about putting up decorations and I told them no. Not after what I went through the year before. They kept pushing and pushing and wouldn’t you know it… I finally gave in. I made it very clear though that if I was going to do decorations, we were going to do them right, and they had to help get them down after Christmas. They agreed to it.
This meant I had to find all new Christmas lights for the exterior because the ones I had were no longer waterproof and they were the main cause for all the trouble the year prior.
So I jumped on Google Maps and I started to measure out my roof line and property lines so I knew exactly how many feet of light I needed. It was somewhere close to a thousand linear feet. Like 900 I believe.
Not knowing what the shape of my trust was in and just how serious that was Plus having been on bed rest for the last 6 months. I had some extra cash saved up. That being said I bought all new Christmas lights to fit the house and such. I have no regrets because at the end of the day it’s what my daughter wanted and it made her happy. My kids are who I live for and as long as they are happy I don’t need anything else including money.
I found these really cool Christmas lights and I knew when I saw them, these are the ones. This year we’re going to be unique and we’re going to stand out. Now I was excited.
By the way my whole entire neighborhood goes berserk on Christmas decorations. Everybody in the neighborhood puts tons of lights up and whatnot. We get tons of traffic to where you can’t even get out of your driveway. Limousines, trolleys, buses, just bump it up on her traffic in my neighborhood.
Anyhow I decided to move forward with the purchase of the Christmas lights and finally ordered them. They finally showed up and I told my sister-in-law where to put them and how to put them up. Shout out to her she was a huge help!
The following photo and video is how the end product turned out.
